About BADGER

The BADGER is a specialist two-room (bathroom and WC) fan with timed overrun. The fan ships as standard with two apertures and blanking plates on the back panel so that the installer is able to easily place the spigot as required. There is also a separately orderable optional front spigot plate. A further separate version of the BADGER with a top spigot is available as a special order item. These options make this fan highly versatile and suitable for replacing most manufacturers older or obsolete fans in existing ventilation installations.

The low-watt fan system operates on an overrun proportional timer activated by the light switches in either room. The BADGER utilises an energy efficient MagLev motor, offering great efficiency, quiet operation and exceptionally long life (up to 50,000 hours of operation). No user or installation set up is required.

What is MagLev Technology:

MagLev fans are derived from the most advanced train technology in the world. We have integrated the science behind making the MagLev trains float above the rails and propel forward, into our complete range of domestic fans.

The levitation of the blade and housing is created through opposing magnetic forces causing propulsion through perpendicular magnetic fields. This means that there is no physical contact between the moving parts and therefore no mechanical friction. This in turn means that the fan temperature is low and there is less waste of energy and less wear to the components. No friction also results in exceptionally high efficiency, quieter running and improved balance. All these features make a highly reliable motor with around 30 years life expectancy under normal operating conditions

General Notes on Fan Installations

The fan position should be as far as practical from the main source of air replacement. This is to avoid short- circuiting of the airflow.

The fan should be placed at high level on a suitable wall so that the second spigot can be aligned to the second room. The BADGER fans ship as standard with a fixed 98mm central spigot and a 68mm spigot which can be positioned by the installer on the left or right of the rear panel. Top or front 68mm spigot options are available as a separate orderable option.

The BADGER is supplied with a two room proportional timer. It can be installed onto an existing ducted system. The fan will include 3 MagLev motors of not more than 2 Watts each extracting at no less than 85M3/h. It will be provided with a backdraft valve and removable filters
