General notes on fan installations:
- Fan position should be as practical from the main source of air replacement. This is to avoid short circuiting of the airflow
- Locate the fan at high level close to source of smells or steam
- If the room or dwelling contains fuel burning devices such as a gas boiler with non-balanced flue, it is essential that there is enough replacement air to prevent fumes from being drawn to the flue when the fan is extracting
- ducting a hole trough wall requires approximately a 5-degree slope downwards to the external grille. The slope is to enable any condensation to trickle out
Sitting of Autostat:
- Ideally on an internal wall
- Adjacent to moisture source or between moisture source and external doorway
- In a large room, site close to moisture source
- Top edge to be 50 - 100 mm down from the ceiling
- Clear corners > 150mm
- Clear any protrusion cupboards etc
- Not within 1000mm of a radiator, a grille or hob
- Not within 1000mm of a grille or hob
